Everybody Everywear: They call me mellow yellow

7-12-11#2

When I found out that yellow won the nomination for this months Everybody Everywear theme I knew that it would be my new-to-me DIY yellow shorts. I thrifted a pair of khaki Bermuda shorts a few weeks ago with the intention to dye them either red or yellow. I also got a pair of  7 for All Mankind jeans that had seen better days. I knew that they would work well as a pair of cutoffs, so they were destined to be red (more on those in another post) leaving the khakis to become my new yellow shorts. I love how bright they turned out to be!

I’ve worn them a couple of times since I dyed them, but never managed to capture them in pictures for the blog yet. No proof means it is OK to repeat them over and over again. Right?!?

Sorry these last two pictures are a little darker I tried lightening them a bit. When I did the lake became a big, bright mass. I thought you could at least see the outfit, and with the first two pictures you can experience the colors better.

Aww…Thanks Rebecca! Sometimes I feel the bump is cuter than others, so it makes me smile when someone else thinks it is cute.

  11. What a fabulous EBEW look! I love it! I love your yellow shorts.

  12. I can’t believe those shorts used to be khaki! I’ve been looking for white bottoms to dye with no luck, now I’ll definitely have to broaden my search to include other light colors. I love that you paired your yellow with turquoise and metallics.

Your hair is too cute by the way!

Glad to have re-found each other. I have just recently really gotten back into the swing of blogging, so my commenting was lacking early on in the pregnancy.

  17. Those shorts are awesome! I’ve always been too chicken to try to dye a garment myself (I’m such a klutz, I know I’ll get it everywhere). But now I really, really want to. I can’t wait to see the red pair!

I thought I would have a hard time with them too, but honestly dyeing them in a big stock pot was a piece of cake. Can’t wait to try dyeing more things.

  18. Those shorts are too cute! I could think of so many ways to wear them!

A fascinating discussion is worth comment.
I believe that you should write more on this subject matter, it may not be a taboo matter but usually people do not speak about these topics.

    To the next! Many thanks!!
