I read a post by Kendi, of Kendi Everydaywhere she wore capris despite remembering a quote from Tim Gunn. The quote relates to ladies saying no to capris. Yet, there she is looking stylish in her cropped crop pants. Well, if Kendi can I can too!

Since, Jazz got his turn in the spotlight and I didn’t get very many good pictures from this shoot. I am sharing with you the only decent picture and two goofy pictures with Lyla. She said we needed to pose like divas. I guess that makes these our diva poses.

Water Color Skirt

Mossimo, Target, skirt, water color,

I wore this outfit to my sister’s couple shower for her upcoming wedding. We ate delicious pizza from one if my favorite pizza places, played pool, and watched as the engaged couple opened gifts for their new home. All of the gifts were very practical, which helps when you are starting from scratch. I don’t know about you, but I always prefer to give the practical gifts. Gifts that I KNOW will get used. My gift was a laundry basket full of the towels they registered for. What are your favorite gifts to give The bride and groom?

I still have a few more showers to attend, so I better get thinking of what else to get. I’m actually pretty excited about the wedding events still to come. As the Matron of Honor and sister of the bride I get honor of throwing the bachelorette party too! Since the bride and myself will be the only members of the bridal party of age I’ve decided to play a game instead of the more traditional party plans. We are heading downtown, but instead of bar crawling we will be playing assassins and must eliminate the rest of the group to win. After we’ve been “killed” we will meet back up at a designated coffee shop for appetizers and mingling until the game is over. Once the winner has been decided we will open the personal shower gifts then head out to dinner.

I got this Mossimo skirt from Scout, and I must say I am thrilled with how well it camouflages baby spit up. Jazz’s tummy was bothering him and after a couple rounds and paper toweling off I still looked decent. Water color print is this mom’s best friend. Now to find more items with this print?!?!

Stay at Home Mom Does Boho Chic

I got this blouse for $1 at Goodwill while I was pregnant. I actually have two of them. One in this salmon color and one in tan. I picked them up, because, of there sheer breezy style. It was one hot summer, and not a time for a pregnant woman to be stifling herself in layers. I don’t think I ever posted pictures of me wearing either blouse while pregnant. Now is a better time than never. However, I am not crazy about the long tunic length now. To remedy this problem I knotted the front and tucked in the back. What do you think? Does it look ok? How else would you style this blouse?

As for accessories, I went with brown and gold tones. The ring and wooden bangle are from Charlotte Russe and the gold bracelet is from Lia Sophia. Nothing too special, but I am making an effort to accessorize more. Last Friday Nate and I went to Omaha to buy him a suit for my sister’s wedding in July. After ordering his suit from Jos A Bank, and a round of Nate vs. Siri we went to Charming Charlie’s. I will admit that the store lived up to my expectations. Jazz loved looking at all of the pretties too. I ended up getting a pair of earrings and two rings. I know I’ll go back when we go to pick up his suit when it comes in around the beginning of May. I need to consult my sister to see what kind of jewelry it will be ok for me to wear in the wedding.

Feline Fine in Leopard Print

sweater dress, skinny jeans, leopard print shoes, leopard printFinally! I finally own a leopard print item. I’ve loved how so many bloggers work leopard print into their wardrobe while looking great. It really is a fantastic print that can be fun and cute or very classy. For my first leopard piece I chose a simple pair of flats from Target. They can be dressed up or down, and with black or brown. Overall I’m very happy with my choice.

I wore this outfit on a quick date night with Nate sans kids. We kept it simple with a quick dinner at Pepperjax Grill and a trip to the grocery store for fruits and veggies to use in  Nate’s new juicer I gave him for Valentine’s Day. We also stopped at Target. What date night isn’t complete without a trip to Target?!?! Seriously though, we had some stuff we needed to get, and every now and again it is easier without keeping an eye on my kids too.

Water Colors Skirt

leather jacket, water colors skirtToday, I bundled up the kids and headed out to my six week check-up. I took this opportunity to dress up a bit. I paired the water colors skirt I picked up at Scout Dry Goods on Fashion’s Night Out with coordinating tights.

skirt, colored tightsI don’t get to dress up very often. I spend my day at home getting spit up on. Followed by putting on work out clothes to teach dance almost every afternoon/evening. I really like this skirt. The colors are so pretty, and the tights are a good match. I originally wanted to wear this with a pair of my heeled boots. However, I opted for the Lucky’s silver ballet flats. I didn’t want to juggle the car seat, wrangle in a 3 year old, and navigate in heels with it being so windy out.
