Natural Homemade Lotion BarsMaking your own all natural lotion bars is ridiculously easy. You only need a few simple ingredients.

Equal Parts

1. Coconut Oil

2. Sweet Almond Oil

3. Beeswax

4. Essential Oil (optional)

Directions

Step One- In a double boiler melt down the beeswax.

Step Two- After the beeswax is melted add in the sweet almond oil and coconut oil. Allow for it to warm up and melt the coconut oil.

Step Three- Pour it into a silicone mold. The silicone mold is the easiest to remove the bars from once they cool. You can also pour it into a small tin to throw in your purse.

To Use- Simply rub the bar over your skin. Your body heat melts the lotion. Your skin may feel oily at first, but it quickly absorbs into your skin. I love how silky my skin feels for hours and hours. These bars are also great at helping to heal rashes, eczema outbreaks, and many other skin issues.

Enjoy and let me know your opinion on this luxurious, moisturizing treat!

I’ve made this shampoo recipe a few times now and have been very happy with the results. It doesn’t cost much, and is really easy to make.

ingredients

1/4 cup hot water

1 tablespoon dried rosemary

1/4 cup liquid castile soap

2 tablespoons sweet almond oil

few drops of tea tree oil

1/4 teaspoon essential oil(optional)

Steep the dried rosemary in the hot water for a few minutes stirring occasionally to help release the fragrance. Combine everything else in a small spray bottle (The spray bottle helps regulate the amount used, since, it is so runny.) After the rosemary has steeped add it to the mixture.

To use you may keep it in the shower. Just shake it up before spraying on your head. Massage scalp for a few minutes before rinsing out. With my short hair I do not need a conditioner, however, my sister found that with her longer hair she did have problems with a few tangles. I have a conditioning recipe coming in another post.

If you are like me your reason behind not liking to wear lipstick is the difficulty you have reapplying in public sans mirror. I also don’t like how most long lasting lipsticks tend to dry my lips out requiring more applications to combat the dryness. I simply prefer tinted lip gloss and balms. The shape of the applicators lend themselves to easier coverage while staying in the lines. Or the balm is in a tin, so I’m using my finger to apply the product. Either way, I just find myself reaching for them before my lipsticks everyday.

I have a lipstick that I really like the color of, but I know I won’t be wearing much this fall/winter just because it is a lipstick. What should I do? I’m not going to toss out something I like when I can make some changes to it, and get lots of use out of it. I decided I would combine i with a nude gloss that was a bit too shiny for my liking.DIY tinted lip balm

The first step is to scoop out the gloss. Followed by cutting the remaining chunk of lipstick from the tube. After those two steps I mashed the lip stick into the gloss and mixed it together. Once, the two products were properly blended I used my blow dryer to heat it up to a runny consistency.how to DIY tinted lip balm

After it was runny enough I put it back into the tin, and cleaned off the edges. After letting it cool I now have a lip gloss that has a color I like, a creamier texture instead of glossy, but it still has a shine to it.how to tinted lip gloss

Do you know what today is? Well lovelies, today is my blog birthday. However, I feel like I’m starting all over with this blog. I had to take time off for medical/personal reasons. I know a small number of you are still around and commenting, for that I am thankful and I love you all. Another handful jumped ship, but I’m ok with that (I think, or at least I’m trying to be).

Anyway, I’m so grateful for all of my wonderful readers  I wanted to giveaway a little thank you gift package. I thought opening my new domain and my blog birthday would be the perfect timing. It is also a thank you for putting up with everything while I continue to tweak the site design. Please let me know if you find anything that isn’t working properly, or is giving you issues.

The package is a few of my favorite things.

Please excuse the bad polish job. It was right before lunchtime and a hungry toddler didn’t allow for touch-ups first.

I planned on writing up a post for this weeks Friend Friday. However, I can’t answer any of the questions very well. I won’t be enjoying any summer vacathttp://noguiltfashion.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpions this year. Instead I thought I would share my “Beach Hair” with you. I recently got a 3-barrel iron for something else to do with my hair while it is growing out. Last week, when we were talking about hair care I shared that I use Moroccan Oil as a heat protector for the occasional times I do use hot tools. I also, love how Moroccan Oil  makes my hair feel even when I don’t style it.

You can start one of two ways.

Option 1: Start with clean damp hair. Apply a small amount of Moroccan Oil and comb through.

Finger dry hair with a blow dryer on low. If you have a diffuser that is even better.

Option 2: The same as option 1 apply a small amount of oil. It is OK to use the oil on dry hair. It is very lite and doesn’t leave your hair with a greasy feel.

Pretty sexy huh?

Step 2: Section off your hair, and take two inches pieces and begin using the iron from the top of each section. Work your way down each section.

Step 3: After finishing all of the sections I use a dusting powder to the roots at the crown of my head. Be careful, because, a little goes a long way. Also, if you use too much it will whiten your roots. After rubbing it in I lift and tease the hair at the crown.

Step 4: Finish with your favorite hairspray!

Voila! Beach Hair!
