Somebody asked me if my sundress had clouds on it. No clouds, just oddly shaped patterns. I decided the dress was too big for me as is, but belting it would be ok. Yet, after belting it I remembered that I would probably be a bit chilling that evening. After removing the belt, I chose a striped button up that would make for a fun pattern blend. I would be warm enough too.

This weekend I was in charge of the finale rehearsal at my studio. Usually, this practice has 50+ girls and two teachers and one high school assistant. Because, the Arabesque Company, our dance team was competing in Kansas City we had fewer ten ten fewer girls. However, it also meant that I was the only teacher. Thankfully, everything went really well and the dancers worked really hard.

How was your weekend? Any exciting happenings?

That has to be the worst title I’ve ever come up with. However, I did go to a modern dance company’s performance once that was all set to Pink Floyd music. It was awesome. My favorite piece was one that they lowered down a few of the can lights, and swung them back and forth on wires. It was amazing how flawlessly they added them into the choreography. I found the show to be very inspiring, and even Nate enjoyed that show.

On the Rocks

Flannel sheets and flannel shirts are warm, but when it is is in the single digits outside you need something more. You especially need something more when you are posing for outfit pictures on ice covered rocks. There was a few times I thought my butt may actually freeze to the rocks if I didn’t move soon enough. Brrr…it didn’t help me feel any warmer that Nate was wearing his heavy snowboarding jacket while taking pictures. He did a great job, and helped me climb down from some of the higher, icy spots.

It is still early in the remix game, but if you read some of the other remixer’s blogs you will see the pieces themselves become re-purposed. I’ve worn a skirt as a shirt before. I also remember a blogger who turned a skirt inside out and put on a few new buttons because the lining was pretty too. I’m not doing anything crazy this time. I’m simply wearing the boots you have seen me wear time and time again un-cuffed.

I would also like to answer a question I’ve been asked. It was about when I’m touching up my photos if I photo shop myself too. To make it clear I am still learning how to edit my photos for better coloring and exposure. There is no way I’m going to take extra time trying to edit something that I see no problem with. I would probably end up completely ruining the shot anyway. To sum it all up, if I’m showing that I had a few too many helpings you will see it on the blog. When I’m dealing with acne you will see it on the blog. I may not always be 100% satisfied with what I see, but I’m not going to pretend to be something else either. As a mom with three jobs I don’t have the time to trim and erase. What you see is what you get. I appreciate you for being along for the ride. I was catching up on my blog reading when I spotted this outfit on
What Would a Nerd Wear. Now I didn’t have a red checkered shirt, but I did have a gray and white version. I also swapped out the brown belt and shoes for black. Thanks for the inspiration!
