This summer, I’ve been doing a lot of working out or teaching dance. That means the outfit posts around here have been lacking. Well, I thought I would switch it up a bit and give you a taste of a few of my dance wear looks from last week. Weird?!? I know but I wanted to post something, and a couple of these items really are fabulous.

I like wearing color when I teach dance. In fact, my students get a bit bored when I wear too much black. It is also more fun to mix things up when I teach five days a week, and have to stare into a mirror the whole time.

I read a post by Kendi, of Kendi Everydaywhere she wore capris despite remembering a quote from Tim Gunn. The quote relates to ladies saying no to capris. Yet, there she is looking stylish in her cropped crop pants. Well, if Kendi can I can too!

Since, Jazz got his turn in the spotlight and I didn’t get very many good pictures from this shoot. I am sharing with you the only decent picture and two goofy pictures with Lyla. She said we needed to pose like divas. I guess that makes these our diva poses.

Asian inspired blouseI had a bit of a one night stand with this blouse that I picked up for $.99. When I first picked it up at Goodwill I didn’t look close enough to see how “home made” it really was. With as crazy as Goodwill was during the weekend before school started back up, and the big sale you don’t always have the time to look closely. I just really liked the satin fabric, and the beautiful color and print.

homemade thrifted blouseThe blouse looked ok tied and left open over a black cami and capris. However, after a gentle wearing and washing it was showing just how poorly made it was. Seams started to unravel or come apart. No amount of steaming was getting it this blouse to lay flat in front. Oh well, not much was lost on this piece, so I don’t feel to bad about it. When thrifting, make sure to look things over closely.

Last time I took blog pictures at a school it was really cold out. This time it was the exact opposite. It was so incredibly hot out. I was wearing loose clothing, but still was almost dripping sweat while taking these pictures.

Admittedly, this is not my most stylish outfit. However, like I said it was incredibly hot out and I planned on doing some packing after these shots were taken. Hold on though, look at my feet. I added wedges to attempt to dress up the outfit at least a little bit. Did it work?

I spent this shoot jumping back and forth between islands, and climbing over rocks. All of this in two inch heels. Ha…if my doctor would have seen me she probably would have yelled at me. As it was, Nate was already super cautious of where I tried to cross over. He made sure it was at the narrowest part.

7/19/11#2I finally found a pair of sunglasses that don’t slide around on my face. With this heat my old pair would be at the tip of my nose, a few minutes after being outside. Even in the car with the AC cranked this would happen. Yikes! I did some hunting around, and found this neon pair at Target. They have a bit of a rubberized coating to them, and that has helped immensely with the slipping and sliding. Needless to say, I’m a little excited that I have found what seems to be the perfect frames for me.collage #1

Sorry for the number of photos. I had a hard time editing them down, and Nate is a little trigger happy when behind the lens.
