Queen of Hearts

Good morning folks! Busy, busy day for me today. I’m subbing the morning classes out at the studio, as well as, teaching my normal Wednesday afternoon/evening dance classes. I’m only going to be one for an hour in between 45 minute drives. Bonus points to the fact that it is the beginning of costume week. Can’t wait to see all my dancers dressed up! It is always a fun week. My costumes may not be incredibly detailed or elaborate, but you better believe I’m dressing up too.

I love the color of these boots. They are also extremely comfortable for cheap boots from Charlotte Russe. What are your favorite shoes to wear during the fall? I love boots, and ballet flats this time of year.

Brush Strokes

This is the first day back at the studio for the summer session. I’m thrilled to go back. Most people would love a week off from work, but this last week and a half have gone by so slowly. Don’t take me wrong…I enjoyed spending some extra time with my husband and kids. I just miss dance and teaching kids. You know you love what you do when you can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve come up with lots of new ideas for combos, or possible dances for next year. At least, I get five weeks to test some of these ideas out. Now, I need to figure out a new schedule for working out, blogging, and housework. I’ll get it all figured out just in time for it to change again this fall. Oh well, such is life.

What’s Going Down?!?

blue cardigan, black pantsThe last couple of weeks my schedule out at the studio has been a little weird to say the least. I know I need to show up Monday through Thursday and on Saturday morning, but honestly, each day it is a guessing game wether I am just working in the office or teaching a class. That meant that last week I had a 75% chance that one of my soloists would cancel her rehearsal (most likely to happen on my way out to the studio). I didn’t want to sit around in my dance clothes if I was working in the office. To help make things workout for whatever happened I wore black athletic pant and a cardigan to top it off. I admit it wasn’t my greatest outfit, but it worked for either situation.Target cardigan, Old Navy athletic pants

How do you think I did styling up workout gear for casual wear? Like I said, this wouldn’t have been my first choice. However, a bright cardigan and a few pretty rings had me feeling a bit better. What do you do when you don’t know what will be happening in your day?

It’s all in the accessorizing

These pictures were taken with my iPhone by my husband. The top one was filtered through instagram, but the bottom two are un edited. I don’t normally post phone photos, but I wasn’t going to make it back home in time to get my camera and take pictures before it got dark out. (Darn daylight savings time!) So, while we were waiting around for Nate’s mom to finish up with a bit of work she had to do I asked Nate to snap a few pictures for me.
