Starting to dress for fall in the summer

purple, tanktop, skirt, sandalsI can’t wait for cooler weather. Lucky me that Thursday and Friday of last week the weather cooled off a bit. It was a easily tolerable 75 degrees out. That slight change in weather had me thinking fall, and I wanted to style a dress I’ve worn numerous times but has yet to make its way onto the blog. Don’t ask me why, sometimes these things just happen for unexplainable reasons. It just reminds me of fall, and a bit like camouflage the more I think about it. I find it funny that the first time this dress is posted here it isn’t even worn as a dress. Well, such is life when you try to make the most out of your closet instead of wearing things as they are. By the way, this dress is another maternity piece worn even when not pregnant.

Hi-Low Skirt and a Gentle Breeze

I love this skirt I got from the children’s section of Target. However, now it is a little big and must be worn with a belt. The problem is it doesn’t have any belt loops. To make it work for me I used this rope belt I got from Target to make the skirt kind of a paper bag style. May not look the greatest, but it worked. I didn’t loose my skirt. I call that a win!

Last Night Out

I told you earlier that I’m writing posts pretty far in advance in preparation for my little guy’s arrival. Well the night I wore this was probably the last night out alone Nate and I would enjoy before becoming parents of two. Our evenings will return to diapering, feeding, and shushing Jazz to sleep. I won’t regret it at all, but I’m savoring my current life too.corduroy jacket, jeans

We went out to pick up dinner and bring it back home to enjoy. We tried a newish wing joint in town, J & K Wings and More, I would have to say that the regular food is only so so. However, the wings and sauces are pretty darn good. I had the Thai mustard sauce on my chicken sandwich. For someone who doesn’t usually like mustard I really liked it. For our wings we tried the Ragin Cajun sauce. I would have liked something a little spicier, but it did have a nice spice to it and great flavor. When we brought our food back home we settled in to watch a couple of movies. After the first movie we went out to get some snacks. We ended up walking around Barnes & Noble for a bit too. What am I doing at a school during the summer?

Last time I took blog pictures at a school it was really cold out. This time it was the exact opposite. It was so incredibly hot out. I was wearing loose clothing, but still was almost dripping sweat while taking these pictures.

Admittedly, this is not my most stylish outfit. However, like I said it was incredibly hot out and I planned on doing some packing after these shots were taken. Hold on though, look at my feet. I added wedges to attempt to dress up the outfit at least a little bit. Did it work?

jeans so comfy you could sleep in them

Two pairs of jeans were my first post challenge purchase. It took me almost two months to take the plunge. However, I’m glad I held out. These jeans are so incredibly comfortable. I was browsing the Target clearance racks and found the William Rast jeans for $12. I liked the price and managed to find my size, so I snagged two pairs and love them!
