You can’t see it, but it is snowing! However, this is posted almost a week after our first snow fall. That does mean that I’m staying ahead of the blogging curve, and getting pictures taken and posted on a regular basis. Go Me!!!!

I hope while reading this post you are prepared for whatever holiday you celebrate, and ready to enjoys friends and family. As for me, I am now on winter break from the dance studio. I’m enjoying time with my kids. After Christmas passes I will enjoy a week spent with my husband too. He will be pretty busy with the production of our churches Christmas services on top of the regular weekend services too. I don’t know about it being the most wonderful time of the year, but it certainly is busy busy busy!

I made this DIY Fringe Scarf from an old t-shirt I was about to get rid of. Really simple to make. You simply cut the shirt from under the arm pits, so the bottom is a solid band. Next, you cut the hem of the shirt off, so the fringe hang loosely. Now, you simply cut the top and bottom of the tube into fringe (the length of the slits depends on how long the shirt is, but roughly 4 inches.) After you have cut the fringe pull on each string to stretch it out a bit. Voila! you now have a lightweight fringed scarf. I do wish I had used a sturdier shirt for this project. This shirt was a thin shirt I got secondhand from Areopostale. I felt that I didn’t have enough space between the top and bottom fringe.

I feel like I’m wearing camouflage. I blend in with the blah surroundings we have in Nebraska right now. Still no snow (not that I’m asking for any), and grey skies all the time. The only spice I added to this otherwise neutral toned outfit is my magenta colored tights. However, those barely peek out from between my suede skirt, and knee high boots. I do have a lot of texture going on! My jacket is corduroy too.

jean jacket, brown skirt, cowboy bootsI’ve got another outfit that was unconsciously inspired by another blogger. This time, I it ended up being Lisa from Archives Vintage that I realized my outfit kind of (in a squint one eye, and close the other sort of way) looks like the one she wore on a trip to upper Michigan. Honestly, it is just the boots and skirt that look similar. However, I really liked this outfit, and enjoyed dressing up for Jazz’s one month doctor appointment.

I have so many skirts and dresses that are harder to wear now that it is cold out, and I’m home all of the time. Any suggestions on how to get some extra casual use out of them?
