30 for 30: Scarf Vest

 I guess this 30 for 30 I’m all about working the scarves as clothing. Remember, when I wore a scarf as a poncho too? Today, I’m turning my scarf into a vest. Well…not exactly, but I belted it and Nate thought it looked like a vest. Also, I feel the need to say that isn’t a hair tie on my wrist. It is a small beaded bracelet from Honduras. My brother brought it back for me after a missions trip.

At one of my favorite blogs, Style Underdog, she is celebrating her birthday week with outfits exploding with color. Now if you have followed this woman for long you know she has quite the panache for wearing neutrals with some major style. She is putting that behind for this weeks challenge. 30 for 30: Outfit #13

This dress is one of the pieces I put in the challenge to force myself to come up with new ways to wear it. I’ve already worn it as a dress in outfit #3. This go around I’m wearing it as a skirt. I folded the top down, added a long sleeve, and belted it. I must say I’m pretty happy with what I came up with. What do you think? As I’m typing this up I just came up with another way to possibly wear this dress. With fingers crossed it may make a re-appearance in the next two weeks.

30 for 30: Outfit #12

Ok, I’ve been seeing a lot of other bloggers wearing tights and knee high socks with there boots. I decided to give it a try. No surprise I liked it. The wool socks it helped keep me warm on a nice cold drive. In the morning I have to leave the house by about 6:15. I drop Lyla off at daycare, take Nate to work, and than get myself to work. All of this must be done before 7:00am. Let me tell you it is awfully cold that early in the morning.

30 for 30: Outfit #3

I had a handful of elderly women compliment me on my outfit today. It made me think, what made them like this outfit? Was I dress matronly? Did it have a vintage feel or look to it? I looked down and saw a short hemline, large print, and boots. The only thing that could pass for elderly is large print, but not this baby.
I think the price per wear of this dress is somewhere around $.50. I don’t think that is doing too shabby. This was my take on winterizing it. What do you think? I like the contrasting necklines.

 One of my comments asked about my new lighting. No I am not using a spotlight, but I have been playing around with the ceiling light fixture to alleviate some shadowing issues I was having. I like the spotlight effect it has now, but unfortunately I stood at the wrong spot. You can’t see my boots very well. Live and learn right? However, thanks to the lighting you can’t see my roots either.
