red tights, pencil skirt, leather jacketI’m happy to say that I’m back in the Everybody, Everywear round up. I actually missed out on voting and even the announcement that colored tights won. Thankfully, I caught Linda’s tweet. I looked down and to my surprise I was wearing a new pair of colored tights. Yep! That is how in tune with the fashion community I am.

floral print blouse, grey pencil skirt, leather jacketI love tights. They are incredibly useful in an outfit. They can add warmth, color, and texture to an otherwise plain outfit. I picked up a three new pairs of tights on Friday when I was wasting time at Target. Waisting time at Target can be quite dangerous, so walking out with only three pairs of tights, a lip stain, and the new Adelle CD (which by the way is fabulous).

plaid shirt, rosesThe fashion blogging community has mixed opinions on pregnant bloggers, and how much or little should be shared. Some people don’t mind pregnant bloggers just as long as they don’t get all mushy, gushy on them. I have not been told I have gone over board, or that people appreciate my take on maternity fashion while not crossing an invisible line of “etiquette” for a lack of a better word. However, I’m almost done with this pregnancy, and it will likely be my last (for awhile at least). Since, I am nearing the finish line I may cross that invisible line and post my un-maternity pictures. I say “un-maternity”, because, I didn’t do a lot of the look at my baby bump!, or overly sweet husband kissing the belly, and I certainly wasn’t going to show my pregnancy battle scars (even though I’m not ashamed of them in the least bit). In these maternity pictures I am fully clothed, by myself, and the only gushy part is  the words already written in the ground.maternity pictures, pattern mixing, butterfliesmaternity pictures, pattern mixing, flannel shirt

I was in the mood for fall pattern mixing in hopes of cooler weather for browsing the Barn Festival last weekend. Sadly, it was 70 out and I was a bit toasty.pattern mixing, flannel shirt, plaid shirt, jeansstripes and plaid,

Color Blocking: Wearing two or more solid blocks of color in a single outfit.

color blocking red/purpleSounds simple, doesn’t it? Well it is simple, yet it is a trend we have seen on NYFW’s runways again for spring/summer 2012. Now the reason it is popular, and mentioned as a trend is because color blocking is most commonly styled with bright colors. Often almost neon shades! That isn’t something for the faint of heart. However, you can still wear the color blocking trend by doing the simplest definition of the trend. Combine two solid block of color.color blocking purple cardigan red shirt, jeans

That is what I did for today’s outfit. I simply combined to solid block of color in the form of a shirt and a cardigan. However, I chose two colors that I don’t normally wear together for my color blocking outfit. Red and Purple. Because, it was cold out I decided to add a scarf and knee high socks with my oxfords. What do you think? What is your opinion of the color blocking trend?sweater, scarf, jeans

color denim, color blocking, jacket, oxfordsThis month for Everybody, Everwear the winner of the public voting is Colored Denim. I think I did a little dance when I found out. I had the absolute perfect outfit in mind. I knew my thrifted pair of fuchsia jeans, and my new Oxford mini wedges (a full review of these here) would be making an appearance. I lucked out and wore the outfit to a birthday party from Nate’s family. The hall the party was held at was blocks away from a colorful, little part of town. When we drove by I knew I had to go back for pictures.

colored denim, color blocking, oxford wedgesI don’t have much to say today. I’ve been busy trying to get things lined up before the baby gets here. Clothes and cloth diapers are washed and ready to go. However, the nursery isn’t exactly set up yet. I need to get on that ASAP. Not much time left folks. As for that I’m also trying to line up guest bloggers and giveaways for you awesome readers. Fingers crossed I get a few more of each, and you enjoy every second of it.

oxford wedges shoesCheck out my new shoes. I’ve had my eye on a pair of oxford shoes since last fall. I was thrilled to add these shoes to my closet. They are designer shoes, handmade right here in the U.S of A! They are really well made, and the shoes and the style is something that I know will last me for awhile. Because, the leather is soft I didn’t have any problems with blisters either. WooHoo!

black wedge oxford shoesI got these shoes from Farfetch. I must say that they were a pleasure to work with. I also enjoyed browsing through all of the fun items. Farfetch separates the items into three different categories. Luxe (well known, established designer items), Lab (discover new, up and coming labels), and Contemporary (casual pieces with an urban edge). Using these three categories makes sifting through the vast amount of boutique pieces easier.

comfortable handmade designer shoesWhile I loved, and maybe even drooled over several of the Luxe pieces. They were out of my typical price point. The Lab items were fun and unique, but I wanted something that I would use all of the time. I found these shoes in the contemporary section, and let me say again, “I love these shoes!”
