I’m back at it ladies and gentlemen. My first of the now monthly Friend Friday questions. Remember you can chime in and catch everyone else’s answers at ModlyChic.

1. With Fashion week just around the corner, we are all beginning to
focus on the upcoming trends for fall. But what about the trends
hitting stores now? What are you coveting?

neon sweater, fashion trends

I am looking to pick up a few more neon pieces to style this spring. I really like the look of pairing a neon statement piece with neutrals and pastels.
2. How do you incorporate new trends into your wardrobe?

Since, I’m all about wearing what I already have. I like to first figure out if I can transform or remix a piece I already own to fit a new trend I want to try out. If nothing in my closet will work and I really want to wear a trend I’ll find something new, but wear it with my current wardrobe.
3. What trend are you seeing and not loving?

Ummm…I can’t think of any off the top of my head. What about you? What are you not loving for this coming season.
4. Do you feel the pressure to constantly update your closet with the
latest trends?

Heck no! I don’t have anything eloquent to say about this, but I simply do not feel pressed to be on trend. If I like it I’ll buy it, but if I don’t I won’t give it a second thought. Even if I like a trend that does not mean I’ll buy it.
5. Where do you find inspiration that takes the trend and makes it
accessible to you and your personal taste?

My fellow fashion bloggers. Check out my blog roll or my style board on Pinterest and you will see how I stay inspired.

Have you seen Sydney yet? Yes, that Sydney. Sydney, of the Daybook, has been looking fabulous during her pregnancy thus far. It can’t be a surprise that she is my next pregnancy fashion blogger. Check out #1 and #2 looking lovely as well.

Sydney knows how to liven up even the tiredest of pregnancy fatigue induced faces. Apply a little fuchsia lipstick. Doesn’t she look fabulous?pregnancy fashion checkered dress

Bright Accessories

Bright Accessories are another way to put a little pep in your step when you are tired. Here Sydney’s turquoise necklace is a nice touch with her black and white checkered dress.

Just because you may be dealing with pregnancy fatigue, and all you want to wear is pajamas does not mean you have to sacrifice style for comfort. Try wearing a soft blousy top, and leggings or stretchy jeans. It is ok to leave the 5 inch heels at home for a day too.

I want to thank the three fabulous bloggers I have featured in this series for letting me use their pictures. I also want to thank my readers for putting up with a narrowly focused topic for What They Wore the last three weeks. Next week I’m doing DIY focused posts. If you have one you would like me to consider email me at danie@noguiltfashion.com

Hey guys. I’m happy to be guest posting today! I’m Brittney from A Day in the Life Too…, and I’m a mom of three young kids (ages 2, 4, & 6) AND a style blogger… and, yes, in case you’re wondering, peanut-butter-shoulder IS the new black. Or should be.

I don’t claim to be the world’s best dresser OR mother, but I have a few tips and tricks that help me be about mediocre on both counts. And I don’t know about all of you, but if I can shoot for “average,” then I figure I’m doing all right! (My husband’s favorite mantra in college was: “D’s get degrees!” Heh. He’s an engineer, and his classes were way harder than mine…) (But, no, he didn’t graduate with Ds. He’s a smarty-pants.)

Now that we’ve established I’m no overachiever but, darn it all, I’m honest, let’s begin.

Tip 1: Embrace the beachy-wave-au-natural hair love of today. Most days, I get out of the shower, put some curl and anti-frizz product in my hair, and then do whatever else I need to for the next half hour. Then, and only then, do I blow dry the rest of my hair and, as needed/time permits, I may touch up about 3-4 strands with a curling iron. Viola. Hair. Done in under 5 minutes of effort.

Tip 2: Don’t be afraid of bare legs. Unless you haven’t had time to shave (*cough* me, most days), then just throw on a pair of colored tights. Not only are they a hot item, but they’re perfect for winter/spring weather AND add a perfect pop of color in about 2 seconds. They don’t have to “match,” in fact, I think it’s better when they don’t. Just make sure they “go.” (Note: I actually did shave, so I went bare-legged…I have a pair of red tights that I purposefully excluded from this ensemble because of their matchiness. Maybe you disagree, which is the beautiful thing about personal style!)

Tip 3: Have a piece of versatile jewelry that you can throw on without thinking about it. For me, it’s my large golden boyfriend watch. If you check my blog, you’ll see I wear it at least 4-5 times a week. Because it’s easy and brainless (and the brain cells left over in my head are clinging on for dear life, so I don’t like to stress them out too much), but it’s still chunky enough to make a statement.

Tip 4: Belt it up, buttercup! Even when you don’t think you need it, a belt is almost always useful for an overall ensemble. It adds structure, definition, and visual interest.

Tip 5: Even if you’re a neutral kinda gal, adding just one pop of color goes a long way to making you look polished and fun. And, by jove, who doesn’t want to be the “fun” mom on the block? Or, at least, fool everyone into thinking you’re fun even when you’re sleep-deprived and ornery because, look, she’s got on a yellow plaid scarf or a red striped shirt.

So, they’re not rocket science, but these are a few of my tips. And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to dine on mac & cheese. Like I said: shootin’ for average. (For more style ideas and/or mildly humorous chat, come on by my daily outfit blog: Happy Mommy Day!

Thanks again, Danie, for having me!

The leaves may change colors and your brightly pedicured toes take cover, but you don’t have to dress yourself from head to toe in dark attire (unless you want). Put on your shades, and revel in the light of a few bright colors.

It’s that time of the week again. Katy over at ModlyChic gave us another good set of questions.
1. When it comes to outfit posts on your own blog, be honest are they what you actually wore that day? It may not be that exact day, because, I have posts scheduled but everything on the blog has been worn out of the house before taking pictures of it for the blog.

2. For a fashion blogger, working in a corporate environment can be tricky. How do you mesh your day job with your personal style choices?
I don’t work in a corporate environment, so I don’t have to worry to much about my style choices. I just have to make sure I look presentable and clean. The fashion bloggers that have to worry about conforming to dress codes earn my respect for staying individuals in the office place.

3. When you get dressed in the morning, do you think what should I wear to work or what should I wear for the blog?
First off, I worry about whether something is clean or not. The next important step is dressing for the weather. Lastly, I make sure what I’m wearing is work appropriate.

4. Do professionals you interact with ever make comments about your clothing choices?
Yes, but it is usually good things!

5. Some bloggers openly admit to wearing outfits only for the blog post. What’s your opinion on that?
I don’t necessarily have a problem with that. It just isn’t what I do. I think there is a difference between fashion blogging and personal style blogging. Fashion blogging seems more about the clothes and showing what is new whether that be in your closet, pictures from magazines, or straight off the runway. Personal style blogging is just that. How you style yourself for your life.

If I am asked to style a look for a specific occasion, and I have the items in my closet, I may wear an outfit just for pictures. I just would be sure to mention that I’m answering a question, and not posting an outfit of the day.
