Welcome back from the holiday weekend! I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and enjoyed their family and friends! We had two Christmases on Christmas Eve, one on Christmas Day, another yesterday, and just the three of us on Christmas Morning That was probably my favorite part. Lyla had much more fun this year. She was able to open her gifts by herself, and actually enjoyed the toys and clothes she received.

If you are the gift type, I hope you got some good stuff. What was your favorite gift? One of my top gifts was my new coffee mug. I get a discount every time I use it at my favorite coffee shop. Talk about a gift that keeps on giving. I also received some new accessories that I’ll be pairing up soon. Also, I was given some cash that I’m toying around with what I want to purchase. Nate and I also have dinner and a movie paid for in gift cards.  I see a date night in the near future! Any movie suggestions?

Red and green get a bad rap when they are mentioned in the same sentence in regards to an outfit. When I picked my 30 for 30 pieces, and realized I had a green sweater and my red pencil skirt I knew I had to give it a try. I’m not thrilled with the results, but I don’t think it was awfully tacky either. What do you think? Do you do red and green, or save it for the ugly sweater parties? Either way I figured this challenge is the perfect time to experiment, and go outside of my comfort zone.

This dress is one of the pieces I put in the challenge to force myself to come up with new ways to wear it. I’ve already worn it as a dress in outfit #3. This go around I’m wearing it as a skirt. I folded the top down, added a long sleeve, and belted it. I must say I’m pretty happy with what I came up with. What do you think? As I’m typing this up I just came up with another way to possibly wear this dress. With fingers crossed it may make a re-appearance in the next two weeks.

If you are also participating in the challenge, did you include items that were going to really stretch your creativity? If so, how is that working out for you so far? What pieces are you having the most trouble with remixing?

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn’t belong. Yes, my coat wasn’t part of my 30 for 30 pieces. However, it was really cold at work today. Solution? I wore my coat all day. I actually got lots of comments on what I nice leather coat I had. I was happy to inform them that it actually is a faux jacket from Target of all places. You should have seen the look on one of my customers faces.

Now before you go turning me in to Kendi for breaking the rules. Coats don’t count, and I fully intended to wear the outfit without the jacket.

I wore tights the last two days, and it was a bit warm out for them. Today, I decided I would go ahead and forgo the tights. Stupid decision…it was a cold, damp, gray day. It should have been the recipient of colorful tights, instead of, the days when temps reached 70 or higher. Did I mention I forgot a coat when walking out the door at 6:20am? Well I did, and didn’t regret it until after I got off work.
