That didn’t take very long

Less than four months ago I was dressing creatively to feel pretty while being nine months pregnant. Well, today I was able to successfully button up my smallest pair of jeans! WooHoo!!! I still have a few more pounds to loose before  I’m back at pre-pregnancy weight, but as long as my clothes fit I’m a happy girl!sweater, sweatshirt,

I picked up this sweatshirt/jacket at Scout Dry Goods & Trade on a weekend shopping trip to Omaha. Nate and I haven’t been on a good shopping trip in a while. It was fun even taking both of the kids with us. The funny part is we could have gone to lots of stores that we don’t have in Lincoln. What do we do? We go to a second hand store and a Goodwill. I must say this was one of my favorite Goodwill stores ever. Very well organized and lots of stuff!skinny jeans, ankle boots, booties, black shoes, high heels

The next time we go to Omaha I want to hit up Charming Charlie’s. I am in a great need of some new accessories. Not a desperate need that has to be met mind you. However, I don’t have a lot of accessories and part of my style resolutions is to try to wear more accessories. Have you had experience at this store? Do you like the stuff? How is the quality?

Water Colors Skirt

leather jacket, water colors skirtToday, I bundled up the kids and headed out to my six week check-up. I took this opportunity to dress up a bit. I paired the water colors skirt I picked up at Scout Dry Goods on Fashion’s Night Out with coordinating tights.

skirt, colored tightsI don’t get to dress up very often. I spend my day at home getting spit up on. Followed by putting on work out clothes to teach dance almost every afternoon/evening. I really like this skirt. The colors are so pretty, and the tights are a good match. I originally wanted to wear this with a pair of my heeled boots. However, I opted for the Lucky’s silver ballet flats. I didn’t want to juggle the car seat, wrangle in a 3 year old, and navigate in heels with it being so windy out.

Omaha Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out

I missed out on Omaha’s Fashion Week, but when I knew I didn’t work last night I knew I would hit up a couple events for Fashion’s Night Out. Now, I know I live in Nebraska. I didn’t think we would match the likes of FNO in New York, but we did have a few local retailers that had small events that packed a great discount and a lot of fun. A few of the national brand stores had special offers too.

They had tweeted that Gap would be offering 40% off one regularly priced item for those that checked in on Foursquare from 6-close. Nate needed a new pair of jeans, so I knew this was the perfect place to kick things off.

black jacket grey tankAfter a quick stroll through DSW’s clearance rack and walking out empty handed we headed up to Scout Dry Goods and Trade. They had drinks, vintage and gently used name brands on sale, and a fun photo booth ran by the fabulous ladies of Esoteric Velvet.

Scout Dry Goods & Trade, Fashion's Night OutThey had me at vintage sale, and courted me with some of the best second hand items I’ve seen. I loved the relaxed vibe of the store. I took a bunch of pictures that I’ll put together in a more in-depth look at the store and its strong mission statement. I tried on several things, but it is getting hard to judge what will fit me this fall. After all, I should be having this baby within the next month! However, I didn’t walk away from fashion’s night out empty handed. I purchased a J Crew wool dress, watercolored skirt, and vintage shorts. All of which I got at an amazing price, and plan to wear with my favorite colorful tights from We Love Colors. I’m now officially excited for fall fashion.
