How does one keep it fun when you are stuck at home most of the day? You let your four year old pick out your outfit. Lyla is a big fan of color! When she picked the tank top she told me “you need a little pink mom.” All together this is a comfy, end of summer outfit. Two thumbs up Lyla!

The last day of summer dance classes, and cleaning up the studio for our open house this weekend required a simple, ok to mess up, outfit. I thought a fun color combo would make it a little more worthwhile. Cherry red crop top, long cutoffs, and bright blue tennis shoes.
I had a heck of a time photographing this outfit. However, you get to see my favorite poster at the dance studio. I love the Fosse print in back. Bob Fosse was a choreographic phenomenon! Some day, I want to choreograph a Fosse jazz tribute. Haven’t found the perfect group for this yet, but I’m still waiting.

Lyla was with me when I was posing for these pictures. She was busy posing up a storm. In fact, one of her poses was so funny I couldn’t help myself from laughing. I hope to be able to update it my frequently now that winter is over, and her creative juices are flowing again.
I think this was the last time I could wear the skirt that I made from a Target dress. The waistband is starting to fall apart. Oh well, I got much more use out of it as a skirt than I did as a dress.

Over Christmas break my brother in-law was back in town with his awesome assortment of camera lenses. I asked if he would be willing to take a few pictures for my blog. He kindly obliged, and we headed downtown. These are all straight out of the camera. No editing at all. They look great!
I’m thrilled that today, I get to go out to the dance studio and start working on recital choreography for all of my classes. It is a fun week, because, everybody gets to see there costumes and hear their music for the first time. The squeals you hear when the tiny ballerinas see the pretty costumes they get t wear for their first recital is just precious. In fact, I’m lucky that my daughter Lyla is in my dance class. I’m happy that I get to be so involved in her first recital. Yep! I’m a proud momma!
Now for the outfit. It really isn’t anything too special. Black jeans with flat motorcycle like boots. A solid blue shirt and a buffalo plaid scarf I picked up at the Bass store closing sale by my dance studio. However, it photographed beautifully. The blues are so bright and cheery.

This is what I wore for my birthday on Tuesday. My husband worked and had school, so I didn’t get to really celebrate my birthday. I did have a day full of activities that kept me busy and smiling.
I started out the day fully rested thanks to Jazz thoughtfully allowing me a solid six hour stretch of sleep. We then headed out to my Mom’s office to show off Gammie’s precious little bundle. Afterwards we went to Trader Joe’s, and picked up a few yummy treats. We came home to eat our delicious chicken noodle soup. Then it was time to head over to the library. We hung out there for awhile practicing naming letters on the magnet board and coloring. Once we tired of that it was time to go back home and get my little ballerina ready for dance.
The big end to my day was Lyla deciding that my birthday dinner should be McDonald’s. Um? Yum? Regardless, of how the day went I was happy to spend it with my kids.
