Pumped Up Kicks
Awhile back, I swore to myself I would never buy a pair of wedge sneakers. Well Hallie, of Corals and Cognacs, has styled a pair or two multiple times. Each time it wore me down a little, and when I found a pair at Target I decided to give them a shot. Well, I can say I am glad I did. I love them, and actually want another pair when ever I find them on sale.
I also owe Lia, of Smart and Snazzy, for the inspiration behind this DIY shirt. I’ve got a cropped, colored version of this coming soon too.

This is what I wore the evening Nate and I went out for a quick dinner to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary. Nate said I looked like a cross between a dance teacher and a disco ball. Due to all of the construction and roadwork downtown while the new arena is being constructed I knew we would have to do quite a bit of walking to get from the car to the restaurant. I wanted to be comfortable, yet still wear something fun since it was a celebration after all! Easy to walk in flats and a cotton dress with a few extra bits of sparkle was the perfect combination.
After dinner we went to the creamery building, so I could get brownie ice cream in a waffle cone. Then, it was a hike up to The Mill for Nate to get a Milano. On the way back to the car we passed an old hardware store that matched my outfit, so we snapped my picture there.
Lady in Red
The first time I wore this outfit I was called the “lady in red”. I was also pretty pregnant at eight months along. This cotton, maternity dress from Target was cozy than, and now it is still ultra comfy. During my last pregnancy I didn’t wear a lot of maternity pieces. Honestly, I think I’ve worn a few of my maternity items more often when not pregnant.

Lyla and I had a bit of extra fun while Nate took our photos today. Speaking of Lyla, check out a newish feature I’m running on kid’s clothing/fashion/etc. If you care about stuff like that is there anything you would like to see?

The last day of summer dance classes, and cleaning up the studio for our open house this weekend required a simple, ok to mess up, outfit. I thought a fun color combo would make it a little more worthwhile. Cherry red crop top, long cutoffs, and bright blue tennis shoes.
I had a heck of a time photographing this outfit. However, you get to see my favorite poster at the dance studio. I love theĀ FosseĀ print in back. Bob Fosse was a choreographic phenomenon! Some day, I want to choreograph a Fosse jazz tribute. Haven’t found the perfect group for this yet, but I’m still waiting.
