Lyla was with me when I was posing for these pictures. She was busy posing up a storm. In fact, one of her poses was so funny I couldn’t help myself from laughing. I’ve added the picture in for, well, kicks and giggles. To see some of her poses and self-put together outfits check out her mini me blog at Fun Size Fashion. I hope to be able to update it my frequently now that winter is over, and her creative juices are flowing again.

I think this was the last time I could wear the skirt that I made from a Target dress. The waistband is starting to fall apart. Oh well, I got much more use out of it as a skirt than I did as a dress.

vintage NY & Co. button front dressI know many people have already gone back to school as students or teachers, and many don’t even have a summer break. However, for me I still have a few more days before classes start back up at the studio. Nate and I have spent a few of our last Saturday mornings of summer at the Farmer’s Market. We both love the Farmer’s Market for different reasons. Nate loves all of the samples of yummy food (admittedly I like that part too), and I like browsing all of the handmade goods. Remember the charms I got from Miss Ky’s Couture? Well, I got a few more things from her booth this weekend too, and am happy to say that a giveaway from her is in the works for my blogging maternity leave!

thrifted NY & Co. button front dressI’ve never really liked how button up dresses looked on me, but when I ran across this one at Goodwill I had to give it a go. I’m actually really happy with how it looked on me. It was incredibly comfortable for a warm stroll around the market. It doesn’t hurt I love how the pictures turned out too.

How do you enjoy your fall weekends? What do you look forward to about fall?

shirt-boyfriend-jeans-yellow-flats Three fourths of this outfit is straight out of Nate’s closet. Can you guess what part is mine? Ok, it is a bit of a dead giveaway. I can’t picture Nate squeezing his foot into my Steve Madden flats. However, yellow is a nice color on him. Getting dressed for the day comfort was my goal. Nate’s clothes fit the bill perfectly, and my favorite flats topped (or bottomed in this case) everything off just right.

What is your opinion on stealing borrowing from your significant others closet? Me, I’ve done it more than once. Check out how I wore his sweater, or the shirt that he bulked up too much to wear anymore.old-car-rock-roll-shirt

On a side note…Eeek! Look at those roots. My red hair has started to come in as a blonder version closer to my 8 year old self. Pregnancy, does some strange things to your looks.

Check out that studded belt with Fender belt buckle I used to complete the look!

A few weekends ago, I went up to the dance studio I teach/work at for what I thought was a staff meeting. I walked back to the studio that I was told the meeting was in. Opened the door, lights were off, and a group of friends shouted out, “Surprise!”navy blue dress yellow ballet flats

Not often do I get surprised by things or surprises at all. I usually either know what I’m getting from Nate, because, I helped pick it out or I just figure it out ahead of time. This time Nate was is on the surprise too. He even drove me out to Gretna without spoiling the surprise.navy dress yellow ballet flats

This dress is one of many pieces I picked up at the last 99 cent sale at Goodwill. I actually managed to come away with 25 pieces that I’m pretty happy with. I can’t wait to show them off on the blog. A few of them I got with the intentions of trying to alter them slightly, but most fit absolutely perfect. Or, at least will fit well after this baby arrives. Yes, I know I’ll have a bit before I’m back to my normal size, but I have faith that it happened once it will happen again.

This dress is so incredibly soft, and it was just what I wanted to wear on a hot day. Especially, when I was already uncomfortable before even leaving the house. Do you own a dress like that? One that makes you feel comfortable the minute you slip it on.American Eagle Navy dress Steve Madden Yellow Ballet Flats

Nate, Lyla, and I went to the park to take pictures, and they just happened to be watering one section of grass. I personally thought this was a little weird to be doing at 7pm. Especially, while the senior citizens were still arriving for there ballroom lessons at the indoor pavilion right next to the sprinklers. However, to a three year old on a warm summery night, the sprinklers called out to Lyla just begging her to run through them. Of course, being the cool mom I am, when she asked me to join her I leaped at the opportunity. Literally!

I’m just glad I decided not to wear a white t-shirt today, or I would have had to find a way to distract Lyla from the siren call of the sprinklers. I also would have ended up without pictures of this outfit, as I am not the type of person to compete in a wet t-shirt contest.

I’m kind of proud of this outfit. Really, how many ways can you rework a romper?!? I’ve worn it with tights and a motorcycle jacket, or with a tank and leggings underneath. However, those are just different ways to style the romper. Today, I decided to wear it as a pair of granny shorts. I really liked the way it turned out. The bonus was not finding another way to style this piece. It was going to the bathroom without stripping down!
