Strawberry Basil Sangria
I want to share a recipe for probably the best spring/summer sangria I have ever had. Two weeks ago, I was craving a pitcher of sangria. I tweeted asking people for their favorite sangria recipe. Mary Anne, of the Dapper Bun, came to the rescue by recommending this concoction. I did some searching and tweaking and came up with this winner.
1/2 pound thinly sliced strawberries
1 apple cut into small cubes (I chose Braeburn)
1 cup club soda
2 ounces scored basil leaves
1 cup white grape juice
1 bottle Chardonnay (Nate chose Rex Goliath, because of, the rooster)
1/2 cup organic sugar (I chose Sugar in the Raw)
Pour your wine into the pitcher. After that add sugar, club soda, and juice. Mix it up. Add fruit and basil, and stir again. Chill, serve, and enjoy!
